Featuring a raised floral motif, it combines four types of wood, encased in a rectangular Brushed Brass frame that enhances and honours this great symbol of  Portuguese identity. This panel can be hung both horizontally and vertically.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

• Clean with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth and immediately dry with a dry cloth to prevent water spots on the brass and moisture absorption in the wood.
• Do not use abrasive cleaning products or harsh sponges that could scratch the brass surface.
• Avoid prolonged contact with foods or liquids that may stain the brass and/or cause the wood to crack.
• Store in a dry location, protected from moisture. Continuous exposure to humidity may cause tarnishing on the brass.
• To keep the wood hydrated and protected, we recommend applying mineral oil every few months. This helps to preserve the wood's natural beauty and durability.

The Portuguese Tile

We live surrounded by it, yet it often seems to go unnoticed. Or, at least, we don't give it the recognition it deserves, despite it being one of the strongest expressions of our cultural identity.

In Portugal, the azulejo (tile) has evolved from a merely utilitarian and ornamental function to one of the most original forms of artistic expression, often depicting our own history.

Despite its simplicity as a resource in building construction, and even though it is not considered a noble material — as described by the azulejo scholar Rafael Salinas Calado (1893–1962), as "made of a bit of earth, a bit of colour, and fire" — it is astonishing how it not only endures for centuries, but also becomes a fundamental element of architecture. Furthermore, it holds the status of a work of art.
